NUT FREE SCHOOL:

No sweet things or fizzy drinks.

ABSOLUTELY NO NUTS ALLOWED OR NUT CONTAINING PRODUCTS. We have children with life threatening allergies to nuts. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation on this matter.

Uniform:

We do not have a prescribed uniform for our school.

Comfortable clothes on P.E. day and runners. Your child's teacher will notify you of these days in due course. There will be also days when we extra-curricular coaches are in too but you will be notified of these days.

If your child is entering 4^th/5^th/6^th Class, we ask that they have "grass shoes". These are old runners that the children can change into in school before going out onto the grass on wet days. Other classes don't need these.

Start and Finish Times:

Classes start promptly at 9:20 am and we encourage children to be on time as it can unsettle them when they are late to school.

The school opens its doors at 9:00 am to facilitate drop off and children coming to school by bus.

Junior and Senior Infants only go home at 2:00 pm

All other classes at 3:00 pm

Child Safeguarding:

Our Child Safeguarding Statement and Risk Assessment is reviewed annually.

We do not allow parents/guardians onto school grounds during the school day Parents/Guardians cannot walk down corridors or into classrooms. This is for the safety of all children and staff.

Should you need to collect your child early please give advance notice and sign in at Reception. A member of staff will bring your child to you while you wait in Reception.

Parking:

There is no Parking on the school grounds for Parents.

We have limited car spaces for own staff.

Please do not park in the bay at front of school this is for our school buses.

Please do not U-turn outside the school and park safely away from school and walk up to collect your child.

Please let us know who you intend to collect your child if it is not you.

Digital Platforms:

We use ClassDojo to connect with on class and school Activities.

We use Aladdin for main school announcements.

When your child starts with us, we will help you sign up to the above.

About Our School

We are a *Music Generation School*. We work with Music Generation weekly on
vocal programmes and enjoy open lessons for our families at the end of the
school year. We also take part in concerts organised by Music Generation.

We have a wonderful partnership with* SETU* and use their facilities weekly
and we host their students and are often involved with studies alongside
PhD students.

*GRS Green Road Soccer Club* - CNS has its own soccer club run by parents
that train weekly.

We are involved with the *Well-Being Pilot Programme* and have Well-Being
Ambassadors who do wonderful work in the school.

We are involved with a *UDL Pilot Programme* with the NCSE.
Universal Design for Learning.

We have many children involved with* Carlow Tennis Club* who represent the
school in Tournaments.

We have coaches who do weekly blocks over the school year of *basketball*,*
gymnastics* and *dance*.

Every week we have weekly assemblies in our hall led by one of our
Reverends. We celebrate student of the week and Birthdays at assembly too.
